Dr D K  Taknet is a reputed business historian and writer. He is a gold medalist (MPhil) and was awarded a PhD by the Department of Business Administration, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Dr  D K Taknet is the author of a number of books which have been widely reviewed, excerpted and serialised in leading national daily newspapers and magazines. Enriched with over thirty years of research and teaching, his documentation of Indian industrialists and business houses has resulted from over a thousand interviews with eminent corporate executives and organisations. He also writes extensively for the national and international print media. He has been the recipient of several scholarships and fellowships awarded by premier institutions such as the University Grants Commission, the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for many analytical research studies on thrust areas of national importance.

Dr Taknet has made business documentaries on Indian business houses and many corporate luminaries, and recorded over a thousand interviews with eminent Indian and foreign industrialists and business executives. An avid traveller, he has participated in international seminars and conferences and is associated with several distinguished Indian and foreign professional and social organisations. He is the recipient of the President’s Award for Social Welfare. He has served in an honorary capacity in several senior managerial positions and assisted the Government of Rajasthan in organising conferences on non-resident Indians and Rajasthanis.
